Research Interests

Genome Sequencing, echinoderm, levels of organization, gene regulatory networks

Research Area

Although my research interests of the past 45 years have centered on sea urchins, the focus has shifted among different points in the life cycle and different levels of organization.  At this particular juncture I am interested in whole genome sequencing efforts for echinoderms and the analysis of information that is emerging from the sequence. In particular I wonder how the cis-regulatory modules in the echinoderm clade vary through evolutionary time to result in the differing gene regulatory networks we now observe.
